LT2 Autobuild Guide: Blueprints & Butter Builder

Butter Builder brings blueprint placement, selection editing, and stockpile filling into one LT2 workspace. Work through a small section first so that you can inspect the layout before repeating it across your base.

Open Butter Builder

Get the loader and key link from the Butter LT2 script page. In Lumber Tycoon 2, open the Butter menu with the default Left Alt shortcut and select the Auto Build tab. You can enable the Builder shortcut there; once enabled, B opens the builder.

If the menu shortcut has been changed, check Settings. The builder shortcut needs to be enabled separately, so pressing B alone is not a reliable test of whether the whole script loaded.

Place previews before committing the layout

Browse the blueprint catalog and choose the pieces for one section of your project. Use the placement preview to inspect the footprint, then use the transform tools to move or rotate your selection. Grid snapping helps keep repeated placements aligned.

For a row of storage bays, start with a single bay. Check its width, access space, and relationship to nearby structures. Adjust this first section before duplicating it; fixing one preview is simpler than correcting a whole row.

Use the builder’s apply and revert controls deliberately. A preview is a chance to inspect a change. Check the selection and position before applying pending edits, and revert changes that do not belong in your layout.

Edit a small selection at a time

Butter Builder includes duplication, copy and paste, undo, and redo. Select the pieces you intend to change before using a shortcut, especially when finished parts of the base are close to the current section.

Duplicate
Shift + D
Copy / paste
Shift + C / V
Undo / redo
Shift + Z / Y

After duplicating a section, inspect the join between the original and the copy. Repeated pieces can be individually aligned while still leaving an awkward opening or blocking a route. Check the whole outline before filling it.

Set a stockpile and fill selected blueprints

The builder can use selected wood as a stockpile. Prepare the wood you intend to use, set it as your stockpile, and select the placed blueprints you want to fill. Begin with a small selection so that you can inspect the result before continuing.

Keep material reserved for other projects outside the stockpile selection. If you have moved wood or changed the base layout, use the builder’s rescan and stockpile management controls to review what is available. Stockpile filling uses your materials; it is not a promise of unlimited wood.

If a fill does not do what you expect, check the selected blueprints and the intended stockpile before adding more tasks. A clear selection and a small test are more useful than repeating the same operation across the entire plot.

Review the finished section and the next task

Look at the section from more than one angle. Check access paths, how repeated shapes meet, and whether transport still fits around the project. Once a small section looks right, repeat the same placement-and-review process for the next one.

The autobuild feature section also includes a logic wiring demo. Item transport and truck stacking belong to separate tool groups, so use the item tools when your next task is moving supplies rather than placing blueprints.

If the builder does not open or a task stops working after an update, follow the LT2 script troubleshooting guide. Game updates and compatible environments can affect behavior.
